The Hardware — Hydroko

The HydroKonekt hardware component, called PiaBox, is an easy-to-install lead-free polymer combined smart meter-valve device with a 16-year battery lifespan.

Besides standard digital water meter functionalities, it also features pressure- and acoustic sensors for water leak detection and -localization. The meter-valve device is installed on the consumer side and features two-way communication with the data platform. Communication between the device and platform happens over the NB-IoT protocol. Remote flow regulation- (burst alarm, water scarcity, leakage, reverse flow) and pre-payment capabilities belong to the possibilities as well.
